To the dreamers, early adopters, believers in the impossible…

It all begins with an idea.

When the Environmental Charter School (ECS) launched in 2008, it was just a group of people who saw the beauty of bringing kids outside, recognized the possibility of doing school differently and worked with a fervor that could only bring about an education experience that was worthy of our children.

Today, ECS officially launches its sister organization, the ECS Foundation, to continue that catalytic energy, and to build energizing opportunities for kids and educators to learn, build, grow, and emerge from the next decade a nimble group of empathetic, thoughtful citizens that will, very likely, change the world.

On this little mission, we need some early adopters, a few dreamers, a handful of believers that recognize that a small but mighty group of citizens, emerging from a rust belt town that is slowly gaining its story back, can change the narrative of learning, of public education, and of imagination in possiblities.
